Fairway and AWI Help A Colorado Company

A Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation branch in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area partnered with the American Warrior Initiative (AWI) to provide a grant in honor of a local company that helps U.S. veterans. The Fairway branch also held a residential housing “boot camp” to train real estate professionals and mortgage planners on how to best handle the home-purchase needs of active duty military members and veterans.

At the event, Fairway and AWI raised over $50,000 to be used by MAVericks Construction & Repair as scholarships for several veterans. Mavericks thrives off its mission statement of “Multi-Abled Veterans united to serve one another, their communities and their nation as the new benchmark in an industry desperate for their skills and character.” Not only does Mavericks train and equip veterans with the knowledge, skills and tools necessary for their new career; Mavericks also provides veterans with a workplace culture that still offers them the service-structure, discipline and trust they need after leaving the military.

Sales manager Ruth Vogt had some wonderful things to say about the Colorado Springs AWI event. She commented,

‘Colorado Springs Supports Military’ was the theme of our fourth annual AWI event in the Springs. We actively engaged not just Realtors and lenders this year, but also invited local communities and businesses to be involved with the cause. The evening brought awareness to the number of servicemen and women transitioning back into the civilian world who have no transferable job skills. Our fundraising efforts were in support of on-the-job training scholarships through MAVericks Construction & Repair, a veteran-centric construction company. Collectively, we were able to raise $50,000, which gave two veterans in our audience that night a path to reclaim both their pride and financial independence by doing what they love to do: serving the public. The money raised will provide scholarships and tools for approximately six to eight more veterans throughout the year.”

Co-founded by Louise Thaxton and Sean Parnell, the American Warrior Initiative is a non-profit organization sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage. The AWI seeks to ease U.S. veterans’ transition from military to civilian life.

I am proud to work for a company that does so much to honor those who sacrifice for our country. If I can help answer any questions about VA loans or any other home loan options, give me a call.
